A complete walkthrough of all seven tools, why each one matters, plus tips, tricks, and do's and don'ts.
1. What is ApplyEdge?
ApplyEdge is an AI-powered toolkit that helps you apply for jobs more effectively. Instead of guessing whether your resume fits a role, ApplyEdge scores your fit, rewrites weak sections, drafts your cover letter, searches for jobs that match your background, and helps recruiters actually find you on LinkedIn — all before you spend an hour tailoring an application that might not land.
The seven tools are designed to be used in order, but you can jump to whichever one you need:
- ATS Match Score — know your fit before you rewrite anything
- Resume Curation — get targeted, approve-before-you-use edits
- Cover Letter — fill in a template you wrote once, in your own voice
- The Signal — a one-page networking narrative for events and cold outreach
- Cold Read — see your resume the way a tired hiring manager sees it

2. Why Each Tool Matters
Every job search has the same failure points. Here's which tool addresses which one, and why it's worth your time.
ATS Match Score
Why it matters: Most resumes never reach a human. Applicant Tracking Systems filter out resumes that don't match the job's required keywords before a recruiter ever opens them. If you don't know your match score, you're applying blind — this tool tells you in under a minute whether a role is even worth tailoring for.
Resume Curation
Why it matters: Knowing your keyword gaps isn't the same as fixing them well. It's easy to stuff keywords in awkwardly or claim experience you don't have. This tool rewrites specific bullets to close real gaps using only what's actually in your background — so your resume stays honest and still reads naturally.
Cover Letter
Why it matters: A generic cover letter is worse than no cover letter — it signals you didn't bother to tailor anything. But writing a fresh one for every application doesn't scale. This tool lets you write your voice once and swap only what's company-specific.
The Signal
Why it matters: Not every opportunity comes through a job posting. At a networking event, in a cold email, or in a LinkedIn DM, you need a way to introduce yourself professionally in a few sentences — something a resume and cover letter aren't built for.
Cold Read
Why it matters: You can't see your own resume the way a stranger does. A hiring manager skimming their fortieth application of the day will notice things you're blind to. This tool simulates that skeptical first pass so you catch problems before a real recruiter does.
Job Match
Why it matters: Job seekers often fixate on the one role they found and miss better-fitting opportunities they never searched for. This tool surfaces live listings that match your actual background.
LinkedIn Profile
Why it matters: Recruiters check your LinkedIn before they call you back — often before they even open your resume. A generic headline and a vague About section get skipped in a search. This tool rewrites both to be keyword-rich and specific.

Try any tool immediately without an account — the free demo lets you test with sample data or your own.

Log in, and your plan badge (Free, Seeker, or Campaigner) appears in the top navigation.
Tip: You don't need an account to try the demo, but you do need one to use any tool for real — the demo results reset and aren't saved.
4.1 ATS Match Score
Paste the job description you're applying to and your resume text, and ApplyEdge scores how well your resume matches — including a keyword gap report.

4.2 Resume Curation
Rewrites specific bullet points to close your keyword gaps — using only experience you actually have. Every edit comes with a reason.

4.3 Cover Letter
Write your template once, in your own voice. Mark only the parts that change per application using simple blanks — ApplyEdge fills only those.

Searches live job listings that fit your background instead of only checking the one role you already found.

4.7 LinkedIn Profile
Rewrites your headline and About section so they're keyword-rich and hook a reader in the first two lines, using only your real experience.

Note: ATS Score, Resume Curation, Cover Letter, Cold Read, and LinkedIn Profile draw from the same monthly scan quota on every plan. Job Match shares that pool on Free and Seeker, but has its own dedicated allowance on Campaigner. The Signal has its own counter on Free and Seeker, but draws from the shared pool on Campaigner.
6. Tips and Tricks
- Always run ATS Score first — it takes under a minute and tells you whether a role is even worth tailoring for.
- Paste the full job description, not a summary, for more accurate results.
- Use Cold Read right before submitting, not at the start — it's a final gut-check.
- Save your cover letter template once and reuse it across applications.
- Check your scan count before a big application push — Free and Seeker reset on the 1st of each month.
- Use Job Match even with a role already in mind — it often surfaces better-fitting options.
- Run LinkedIn Profile alongside your resume updates for a consistent story across both.
- On Seeker or Campaigner, save your best outputs to History to reuse without regenerating.
7. Do's and Don'ts

✗ Submit Cold Read's rewrite word-for-word without your own voice
✗ Assume every Job Match listing is current or verified by ApplyEdge
✗ Let the AI rewrite parts of your letter outside the marked blanks
✗ Run repeated scans on the same JD/resume pair without checking your quota
✗ Send The Signal as your only application material for a job posting
✗ Let the rewritten headline and About section sit unused in ApplyEdge
8. Troubleshooting
"Free plan limit reached"
You've used your monthly scan quota. It resets on the 1st of each month, or upgrade to Seeker/Campaigner, or buy à la carte credits for an immediate top-up.
A job description URL won't load
LinkedIn URLs are not supported — copy the job description text directly instead. JobStreet, Indeed, Glassdoor, and Seek URLs work.
No results in Job Match
Try broader keywords. Very specific or unusual job titles may return few or no results, especially outside major cities.
I can't find my saved history
Account history is available on Seeker and Campaigner plans, and currently covers ATS Score, Resume Curation, Cover Letter, Cold Read, and LinkedIn Profile outputs. The Signal and Job Match outputs can be copied or emailed individually but don't appear in history.
